Fall is here.
I love making meals in my crock pot. It makes the house smell so yummy. Especially when I make chili. I usually cook the ground beef on the stove first before adding it to the crock pot. I saute the onions with the meat and often add in the green peppers too. It gives it a much more grilled onion taste. I also add 3 kinds of beans. I add pinto beans, chili beans and light kidney beans. I add chili powder, garlic and cumin. The tomatoes I use are either canned chopped tomatoes or my own frozen ones from my garden. Depending on how much I make I add around 4 cups of water and let it simmer for 6 hours on slow. Basic chili, that's the way we like it. If you want a very low carb chili leave out the beans.

Can't join the gym? No equipment at home? Try walking when the weather's nice out. A 30 min walk is a great way to get in over 10,000 steps a day.Even a 10 minute walk is a 10 minute walk. It all adds up. O.K. So now you say no sidewalks near your house.? Well, try some of these tips for getting in more steps:
- Trade your power mower for a push version.
- Park your car at the back of the lot.
- Get out of the office building and enjoy walking instead of a food break.
- Sweep the driveway or rake the leaves.
- Get off the bus a few stops earlier.
- Walk to the mall.
- Take the stairs as much as possible.
- Turn up the music the next time you mop, sweep or vacuum.

A lot of people get hung up on the word DIET. We all have diets that we follow whether it is to lose weight or not. Lately some like to call it a LIFESTYLE CHANGE. Why are people afraid to use the word DIET? No matter what it called it is still a diet. Go to the doctor and he will ask, "Hows your Diet?' The pediatrician asks about your kids diet............. the word is always going to be here whether we like to use it or not. A lifestyle change involves a diet, exercise and a way of living. A diet involves the food we eat.. A Lifestyle Change covers several things that we need to do in our life, like get healthy by eating more fruits and veggies, eat less sugar and starchy foods, get fit by doing more daily exercise and stop those unhealthy habits.

Do you drink protein powders to help you lose weight? If you replace 1 meal a day with a protein drink , it will reduce your daily calorie intake and your carbs. Jay Robb has 24 grams protein in 1 serving, made with stevia and lactose free. I like Jay Robb strawberry egg white protein powder. I mix mine with frozen strawberries and whirl away. I some times add cream cheese. I think I am having a dessert when I make it like that. Here is a Fat Burner recipe.......... 16 oz water or milk ..... 1 scoop powder.... 8 frozen strawberries... 1tb. almond butter..... a few ice cubes.... Blend away and enjoy............I use my Magic Bullet.
